IIT Placements: Placements in different Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) across India are usually conducted from December to May in different phases. The salary package of students in top IITs usually ranges from INR 20 Lakh to 1 Crore per annum whereas, for other IITs, it is between INR 20 to 50 lakh per annum.
The highest salary package offered in the top IITs is usually above INR 1 crore whereas, in other IITs, the annual CTC lies between Rs 30-70 lakh. Usually, the top packages offered by companies are international ones.
Top domestic and international companies like Microsoft, Samsung, Google, Qualcomm, Goldman Sachs, Flipkart, Intel, HSBBC Holdings, IBM, Walmart, Bajaj Automobiles, Accenture, JP Morgan, Cisco, Deloitte, Caterpillar, Amazon, Adobe, TATA, Morgan Stanley, Accenture, ONGC, etc. visit the IIT campuses to recruit engineering graduates for various job roles.
The institute has not released the placement report incorporating the overall data for the 2024 drive. However, the media reports have disclosed the 2024 placement statistics till Phase I. As per the reports, the average package for the 2024 drive stood at INR 26.27 LPA. The number of international offers was 22 in 2024, which was comparatively lesser than the 2023 phase I placements. IIT Placements: Procedure
All the IITs follow the below-mentioned step-by-step procedure for all its students.
Step 1: The Training & Placement Cell (All IITs have a separate T&P cell), assisted by student representatives, sends invitations to companies along with relevant information and documents - Placement Brochure, Job Announcement Form (JAF), etc.
Step 2: A company can also show interest in recruiting students by contacting the T&P Cell of the respective IITs. They need to send an email to the T&P cell of the IITs of their interest.
Step 3: After receiving a filled-in JAF and relevant information from a company T&P Cell will reply to the companies through email. The dates for campus interviews are allotted based on information provided in the JAF.
A total of 1,200 offers were made and 1,150 students were placed during the Phase 1 of IIT Delhi placements 2025. Further, more than 50 international offers were made during IIT Delhi Phase 1 placements 2024-25.
According to NIRF report 2025, the median package received during BTech placement 2024 was INR 19.08 LPA. Further, 711 students were placed and 49 students opted for higher studies out of total 946 students during IIT Delhi BTech placement 2024.
According to unofficial sources, the placement rate recorded during IIT Delhi BTech placements 2023 was 90.01%.
As of now, the institute has released the phase-I placement statistics. A total of 913 students were placed and 989 job offers were distributed among them. Check the complete insights of IIT Kanpur placements 2024 from the table below:

50 students received domestic offers with package more than INR 1 crore per annum during the IIT Delhi placement drive 2023. Further, the highest international package offered during IIT Delhi placements 2023 stood at INR 2.5 crore per annum.
Step 4: The suitable date for the Pre-Placement Talk (PPT) is decided by the discussions between the companies and the T&P Cell. After confirmation from the companies, students are notified of the PPT date.
Step-5: The companies visit IIT campuses to conduct PPT.
Step-6: The companies may also if interested, select pre-final year students for summer internships during the placement drive.
Step-7: Interested students register for a particular company online to make their resumes/CVs available to the companies for shortlisting.
Step-8: Companies send the list of shortlisted students by email to the T&P Cell before the campus visit for final interviews.
Step-9: The companies visit the campus for placements on the allotted dates and conduct Group Discussions/Aptitude test/Technical test/Personal Interviews etc.
Step-10: The companies furnish the final list of selected students on the same day or in few days after the completion of the selection procedure.
